Owen Archibald Thompson , commonly known by his alias Agent Green, works for The AM.

Biography

He was an earnest and well-meaning bureaucrat who truly did believe that the experiments The AM are conducting were for a good cause and that it was in his best interest to stay with them. He took his duties very seriously, and monitored Dr. Bright's patients and reported them back to The AM.

Relationships

Dr. Joan Bright

Owen and Dr. Joan Bright were romantically involved when she worked with The AM, but have since broken up after he continued to work with The AM despite the knowledge of The AM kidnapping Dr. Bright's brother, Mark. According to Chloe, Agent Green still has feelings for Joan. In fact, he considered her "the love of his life." In the series finale of The Bright Sessions, he asks her to return to The AM as his co-director.

Throughout their time working together in The AM Archives it is abundantly clear that Owen still has feelings for Joan, though he seems to have fully accepted that she does not return them. Owen tells Sam about how he may never be able to get over Joan and expresses that he's happy for her for being able to move on, even if he himself isn't ready to.

Joan is with him when he dies in episode 14. As he bleeds out, he tries to express his approval of Jackson and he asks her to stay with him. His last words are "I love you, Joan. And I need you to be happy."

Sam Barnes

Owen was friendly with Sam and called to wish her happy birthday—and to tell her he won't turn her in for hacking the AM. He later calls Sam and asks to join her alternative AM solution. However, in the finale of The Bright Sessions, he asks her to help him reform and run The AM.

As co-directors of The AM, Sam and Owen start off with a very strained relationship. While they get along well enough, Sam expresses doubt that she'll ever see him in a different light. This begins to change the night of Helen's breakout, where Sam and Owen end up sharing a conversation about their respective love lives and their capability to move on. throughout the course of this night and in the time leading up to Owen's death, the two get to know each other much better and grow a lot more familiar.

Rose Atkinson

Owen and Rose are very friendly. Owen greets Rose when she goes inpatient at the AM, and later Rose seems to regard him as her conscience when she goes dreamwalking.

Jackson Crawford

Owen and Jackson seem to butt heads a lot during the beginning of The AM Archives, although they do both seem to have a good deal of respect for each other.  Owen appears to have been attempting to take Jackson under his wing. Before his death, Owen tells Joan that Jackson is "a better man than I ever was."

Mark Bryant

Mark was a prisoner on tier 5 for many years, being experimented on by the AM. Owen was very notably involved in these experiments and hid them from Joan, Mark's sister and Owen's then-girlfriend. After Mark's escape from the AM he is understandably bitter towards Owen, despite Owen's attempts at showing kindness.

In episode 7 of The AM Archives, Mark volunteers for a potentially dangerous drug trial at the AM, causing Owen to grow noticeably worried and upset with him, remarking that Joan will kill them both if she finds out he allowed Mark to be involved in another experiment, even if it was of his own free will this time. Mark reassures Owen that he'll make sure Joan knows Owen had nothing to do with it if she finds out, but warns that "if you try to stop me, I will make sure that she believes you strapped me down yourself."

During Helen's breakout, when Mark ends up trapped in the med bay with Owen and Dr. Sharpe locked in the adjacent room, Owen grows panicked and begins shouting Mark's name and makes attempts to break the door open, both with his shoulder and later with a crowbar. He repeatedly stresses his concern for Mark's condition.
